Sea Dogs Squad – Tuesday Swimming
Pirates’ Tuesday night swimming caters for swimmers who are beyond the learn to swim basis and who wish to improve their swimming and have fun. Please note that although we aim to improve techniques that have already been taught, we are not a learn to swim club.
There are two swimming sessions available, based on swimming ability:
- 6.30 to 7.15 (Swimmers must be able to swim 5 lengths continuously) (4 Lanes)
- 7.15 to 8pm (Swimmers must be able to swim 10 lengths continuously) (4 lanes)
We have approximately 11-13 swimmers per lane, and each lane has a volunteer coach. Due to lane space limitations, places are limited.
Fees are $75 per swimmer per term, and places are allocated on a first paid first in basis. Term membership subs are due prior to the first Tuesday of each term. We appreciate payments made promptly to minimise volunteer time in chasing up unpaid subscriptions. Thank you in advance for your support.
In addition to the club and squad fees, swimmers must pay for entry to the pool.
Fun Nights, consisting of races and a BBQ with sausages and chocolate fish are held on the last Tuesday of each term starting at 6ish (or a bit later sometimes) and finishing approx. 7.30-8pm. There is no additional charge for the BBQ on these evenings, although if your child has special dietary requirements we will need to know in advance.
You are encouraged to come along as a parent spectator.
How to join, follow these three simple steps:
Step 1 Contact the Club’s coach, Steve Francis on coach@pirates.org.nz to arrange a swimming time for your child to be assessed to see which session and lane they should be in.
Step 2 When Steve has allocated you to a lane, he will email seadogs@pirates.org.nz to let the person know what lane and session your child is in. You will then be asked to provide your swimmer’s full name, date of birth, address, email and phone contact details in order to confirm your child’s place.
Step 3 We will send you an invoice for the fees for the term.
